Overview

What it involves

Food hygiene inspection evaluates whether premises, processes and practices meet the general principles of food hygiene and the HACCP-based controls required for safe food. Food businesses, hotel groups and brand owners use it to obtain an independent view of their own operations and those of their suppliers.

GQCL also carries out sampling of food products, following defined sampling procedures, for analysis by the laboratory you nominate.

FAQ

Common questions

Is a food hygiene inspection the same as ISO 22000 certification?

No. An inspection evaluates premises, processes and practices at the time of the visit. ISO 22000 certification evaluates the complete food safety management system over a three-year cycle.

Do you test the samples?

GQCL takes and seals samples in accordance with the sampling procedure and delivers them to the laboratory you nominate. The results are reported by the laboratory.
